Antique Kazak Rug


Age pre-1910. This circa 1880 Kazak #7569 measures 4’7” X 7’6” (143 x 231 cm). This sort of Sewan looking Kazak has a tomato red field with a large ivory medallion, on top of which is a large green medallion, on top of which is a tomato red medallion. Everything contains variations of Memling gul. The ivory major border is worked in a crab motif in green, red, cordovan and navy blue. The rug has had minor repairs through the years which is to be expected. The sides have been redone. The ends are complete and they have not even been raveled out. The rug is clean and ready to go.
